Selecting a Local Phone Number

When you sign up for SimpleVox, the first step is choosing your business phone number.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

We make it easy to pick a number that fits your brand, location, and customer base — no paperwork or waiting required.

Here’s how it works:

What You’ll Need

  • A SimpleVox account (start a free trial here)

  • An idea of the area code or region you want to represent

Choosing a Local Number

Local numbers help your business feel accessible and familiar — especially if you serve a specific geographic area. Whether you want a number that reflects your hometown or your service region, we’ve got you covered.

To choose your number:

  1. Log in to your SimpleVox account

  2. Go to Settings > Phone Numbers

  3. Click “Add Number”

  4. Enter your preferred area code or city (e.g., 312 for Chicago)

  5. Browse the list of available numbers and select the one you like

  6. Confirm and activate

Tip: If you don’t see the area code you want, try nearby codes or check back later — our inventory updates regularly.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Number

  • Local Trust: Customers are more likely to answer calls from local numbers

  • Memorability: Choose a number with repeating or simple digits if branding is important

  • Multiple Regions? You can add numbers in different area codes to reach customers in more than one city

Billing Reminder

Your SimpleVox subscription includes one number. Additional numbers are billed as monthly add-ons. You’ll see the cost clearly during the selection process.
